This year for Labor Day, the husband and I decided a getaway was necessary. We set our sights on Hawaii, because it’s close and we can get there quickly. Though we’ve been before, we’re checking out a new island this time and to say we’re excited, would be an understatement. With three kids it seems like it has been forever since we’ve been able to hang out sans someone calling our names or needing something at every turn. Luckily, we’re blessed enough to have to a great support system so we can sneak away for a few days just as school and soccer are starting again. Jump in to see what I’m packing for the trip!
It’s been a little while since I’ve hit the pool or beach post pregnancy with the exception of our annual trip to Palm Springs so I’m looking forward to snagging some new threads for the trip. Since I just had a baby, I definitely have needed to revamp and update my vacation closet. With the trip right around the corner I’ve been doing some online window shopping for cute things and here’s what I’ve come across.
Per usual I’m planning to keep things neutral when we’re sight seeing and checking out all that Hawaii has to offer. Lately I’ve been all dresses and tennis shoe everything with my wardrobe. It proves be a great comfortable look with the edge of chic I love. That’s why I included the dresses above in my roundup. Polka dots, black and a pop of red will do the trick! Of course cute sandals are a must but since I know we’ll likely be walking around Oahu quite a bit I wanted to make sure that I had some pairs that were going to be easy for trekking without taking away from my look. Havaianas and Birkenstocks are perfect for this and traveling. Sadly, the white version of the Birks are sold out everywhere so I won’t have them in time but there are lots of other snazzy choices as well. Shop them here.
What’s a beach getaway with poolside pieces that will have you feeling like a Sports Illustrated model? Okay, maybe not all that, but definitely enough to capture some looks from the cabana boys, lol. I’m all about stripes and black when it comes to suits because they elongate the body and slim out this middle. Truthfully you never want to be in a suit that’s going to make you lack any confidence. Plus, sunnies and my own towel so I can perch by the water in style.
If you can’t tell already I’m super excited for this trip and can’t wait to sip piña colada’s and hit up Duke’s for some tasty food with my boo!
