Happy Friday! As you all are reading this I am in Hawaii celebrating my anniversary and I’m so glad because, this week? Has been a doozy. Like a lot of you I’m sure, I’ve been tittering between a variety of emotions ranging from disbelief to anger. For those of you who don’t know me personally, politics is one of my things. I enjoy it. I follow it. And when I started college I majored in Political Science with the plans to become an attorney and eventually a judge. Running for office has always been an idea as a maybe plan. That said Tuesday’s election results left me sad. Not shocked unfortunately but most certainly disheartened. While I could go on and on about the reasoning on why I believe things turned out as they did, not including the most obvious two – racism and sexism – I won’t. I’ll let this be a place of joy. Instead I want to talk about something that is making me happy lately. A little trend piece that I finally got my hands on – the slip dress. And this is a slip dress for everyone.

While perusing one of my favorite stores, that I need to stay out of, Zara, I stumbled upon this simple black slip dress and thought, “Finally one that I can wear with everything!” Do you remember the episode of Sex and the City when Carrie wears “the naked dress?” I’ve always wanted one and with this purchase I think I found mine. It’s lightweight, just casual enough to pair with a tee like I did here or to sexy up with some strappy heels which I plan to do while I’m here in Maui for my anniversary dinner.

That’s how you build a wardrobe, by purchasing pieces that have multiple uses. If you can only wear it once? Leave it on the rack. Learn how to rotate and you’ll never look like you wear the same thing twice. I’ve got the system down pat.A walk in Long Beach // https://thehautemommie.com/a-slip-dress-for-everyone/
