Each year we all wait with baited breath to see which colors Pantone deems color(s) of the year. For 2016, the beautiful shades of – Rose Quartz and Serenity were picked. If you don’t know me by now, you may not be aware of my affinity for all things rose gold so I’m definitely down for the choice…partly.
This is what Pantone has to say about their choice of colors: As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent. Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.

Except me and the color blue aren’t exactly friends.
But with summer now in full swing in Los Angeles the thought of cools blues is helping me battle the heatwave happening here. I figured if I found some things I liked, perhaps blue could change my mind. From sandals to dresses here are a few of my picks to grant me the serenity in the midst of weather I cannot take.
These options from Shopbop, Urban Outfitters, and more are exactly what I needed to incorporate Serenity into my wardrobe before the year ran out. And with my love for denim I think I’ll be able to do it with ease.
