If you couldn’t tell by my two cooking shows and my snap show, “The Hautemommie EATS” – food is a major part of my life. That said, I never wanted my love of eating out to end simply because I am a mother. I have heard the stories from other parents who said they haven’t had or enjoyed a meal out in ages. To them I say, “I get it, but…not really.” The one thing that has saved my restaurant touring has been – a hook on highchair.

After a few dinners where my youngest princess tried to climb out of the restaurant provided highchair I knew there had to be a better alternative. Now I didn’t discover these chairs alone, I’ve seen them used by others but I was a tad nervous by the notion of a “floating baby.” My anxiety had me thinking my child would come tumbling down dinner and all, while I was enjoying my steak. I have since moved on – praise God. The wonderful folks over at Phil + Ted’s awesome hook on highchair, The Lobster, has made going out to eat a pleasure to do with my baby.
It comes in two colors – red and black, which are appreciated because as a fashionable mother it is quite frustrating trying to find stylish, minimalistic, and neutral colored baby products. I’ve only owned my lobster for a few short weeks and already it has been such a lifesaver. Now, rather than a germy, sticky, wooden highchair that I blanket with my shopping cart cover, Baby C can join us at the table where she can also feel a part of the meal. I also think it offers a valuable lesson by teaching her how to sit down and eat at a table early in life, which is a huge part of my family.
