We’ve seen tons of designer collaborations with fast fashion retailers like H&M or new age department stores like Target, and they’ve run the gamut between gorgeous and “who approved this?” At the end of last year H&M teamed up with french fashion house Kenzo to produce a line that was eclectic, loud, and a dream of mixed patterns.
There were a lot of items that I thought could work in an editorial spread but things I wasn’t sure would translate well into everyday style. But it was this baby doll dress that caught my eye and had me calling my plug to make sure it ended up in my closet. And she held me down. While this dress is very busy it is ironically easy to wear and style. And I’ll say this – I felt an instant surge of chic when I put it on.
You all know how much I love leopard print and that it is indeed a neutral, seeing it paired in this dress with floral prints and other shaped patterns gave me life. Obviously when wearing this dress you should opt for simpler accessories in the rest of your outfit as not to start looking like a kaleidoscope but feel free to up it in the color department. I went for an olive pair of Marc Fisher boots this time but I have my burgundy velvet boots in mind for the next wear.
