When you’re a top heavy girl like me tank tops can be the bane of your existence. Trying to find the right bra to wear with your racerback, thin strapped, ribbed summer essential can be frustrating. Which is why as much as I love a good halter styled tank, muscle tees have become my go-to instead. Offering a little more coverage than most tank tops and looking better when oversized, muscle tanks are definitely the only tank top you’ll truly need this summer. Want to learn how to switch it up this season, keep reading! Style Maven - The Hautemommie

Ironically my must-have top for warm weather has the word muscle in it while I am least muscular that I have probably ever been. But that’s not stopping me from stocking up on these babies at Madewell, Everlane, and a few other retailers that offer well made versions. For years I’ve longed to rock out with cute tanks but consistently find myself hard pressed to find one that doesn’t make my chest look huge or works well with undergarments. Oh the woes of cleavage. Luckily I discovered a solution to my problem.

Muscle tanks give me enough coverage to wear a real bra and give mama a little more slack around the middle, which clearly I need for BBQs and rosé. Hahaha, but seriously these have become a staple in my wardrobe. And if I’m being truly honest not even just for summer but year-round. Not to mention they are easily paired with a variety of other pieces in my closet and go from casual to upscale in an instant.

With the rest of this look you can see I’m still having a love affair with the flared pant, this pair I scooped up from Zara while filming in Atlanta. Of course I have to wear heels so there aren’t puddles of fabric at my feet but it’s such a fun pair of pants – I’ll deal. Hilarious story about my jacket. When I was in D.C. on an elevator an older woman said to me, “Oh no! You’re jacket has so many holes.” Now clearly this precious lamb didn’t have a clue about trends so I kindly responded, “And would you believe I paid for these holes?!” Distressed is in Barb, it’s IN!
