Happy Labor Day! Today “officially” marks the last day of summer so I figured I’d give you a little recap of how I spent the weekend waving goodbye. It was Baby C’s birthday and I must say her luxurious desert soiree was certainly full of laughs, great eats, and tons of love. I was really focused on throwing a party to remember and I think I pulled it off! WHEW! Take a look at the mood board I used to bring it all to life.
I went for a luxury tropic desert feel, think Beverly Hills Hotel meets Palm Springs, fit with a faux grass photo backdrop wall and “poolside cabana” otherwise known as a repurposed Target teepee. To all the vendors that made the fete amazing – Sweet and Saucy Cake shop, Create A Party rentals, and Cindy’s Jumpers a big thanks! Let’s just say Mama hooked it up. I do wish I had sprung for a photographer because I was running around ensuring everything was running smoothly and didn’t get to take many pictures.
It definitely wasn’t because all the batteries on the cameras were dead. Nope that wasn’t it at all. *eyeroll*
The best part was having my family here for the festivities including my sister, brother-in-law, and best friend who all live back East. Having a full house to celebrate Clarke turning one was a blast!
Sunday the family and I took a little field trip down to Venice and strolled down Abbott Kinney. One of my favorite spots in LA; full of quaint shops, good eats, and even better desserts. It reminds me of a Californian version of Georgetown in D.C. The five of us enjoyed Matcha lattes, perusing the Warby Parker for stylish specs and taking pictures in front of the many beautifully painted walls.
All in all this weekend was a fantastic way to usher in the new season. Only about one more quarter left in the year, what do you have left to get done before 2016 ends? Make it HAUTE!
