I‘ve been thinking for some time how to do a roundup of the dope things I find on the internet or in my life that aid me in living well. I’ve decided to share on Wednesdays, since it’s mid-week and we can all use something to keep us going. Check out the first installment of MID-WEEK HAUTENESS: 001.
LISTEN: This week I was introduced to a new podcast, How I Built This, and instantly I loved it. Shoutout to my forever plus one putting me on. One key to living well, finding a person to share your life with who can always help you continue to grow. How I Built This, hosted by Guy Raz, centers on interviews with some the world’s most prolific entrepreneurs. The first episode I listened to was with Cathy Hughes, founder of Radio One. Her interview left me inspired and motivated to continue pursuing my dreams. For those of you who didn’t know Howard University’s School of Communications (my alma mater) was recently named for Hughes, so that just shows you how much of a girl boss she is. I recommend taking a listen to How I Built This for more great looks into brilliant minds.
WEAR: Now that fashion month is behind us until February I wanted to share a few of my favorites from Paris Fashion Week, London, and Italy. Here are a few looks that I may have to recreate some time soon.
Miu Miu and Mary Katrantzou had some of my favorite looks with a little fur, some denim, and funky prints? These have Hautemommie written all over them! That mini trench is seriously the best thing I’ve seen all year.
TRY: I am always on the hunt for great recipes, new restaurants, or interesting things to try in my kitchen. I’ve heard about by Chloe, a vegan restaurant based in NY, that recently ventured out west. While I am certainly no vegan I am intrigued by the menu options and want to check out the restaurant this weekend. Not to mention I love great branding, how cute is this?!
