I‘ll let you in on a little secret, I shop in the men’s section often. There is something about men’s clothes that obviously touch on the androgynous parts of my style and bring a hint of masculinity to many looks. Whether it’s a coat, a sweatshirt, or a pair of pants I can more than likely find something to my liking. I first saw these pants while scrolling through the Zara app one night and had to have them. Lucky for me I snagged them during a sale. Who knew African inspired trousers could be so good?

Best known secret to style is shopping everywhere. Be that kid sections if you can, men’s sections, and specialty stores. You never know where you next great piece may be hiding. I live for a great pant, probably because as versatile as denim is, they can be hit or miss for me. Great trousers are the perfect medium for me since they can be casual or dressed up. This pair is super special since they lend themselves to being worn with heels or sneakers as styled here.

Can we talk sneakers for a second? As we know I’m addicted, and these Alexander McQueen’s are so cute. Not super comfortable but definitely cute.

I bought these after seeing them several times on a few of my favorite Instagram follows, the platform mixed with the minimalistic look caught my eye. They remind me of an elevated version of the Stan Smith’s. I will say I haven’t worn mine enough for them to be broken in but I do love the look of them so perhaps I’ll pull them out more often.

As always, don’t be afraid to tailor your clothes. Perhaps you’ve found something you love in the men’s section but it’s a bit wide in the waist or tight in the bum, take it to your tailor to let out and take in. Don’t be afraid to buy clothes just because they don’t fit perfectly that’s what alterations are for.

Next time you’re out shopping or online perusing, take a gander at what is happening in other parts of the store. You’d be surprised at what you may find that will be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

xx,
