Have you ever felt you’re longing for someplace you’ve been to before? Lately I’ve been feeling this pull toward Paris so much it’s almost strange. Like I can feel the air around the Siene, I can taste the croissants fresh from the oven, and smell the wafts of crepes being made street side. My trip to Paris four years ago struck a chord in me that hasn’t seemed to stop reverberating. Everything about the city of lights made me shine from within. And for some reason this dress, this corner cafe, and this day made it feel like Paris in California.
During my first jaunt to Paris, I was a couple months pregnant and couldn’t partake in all the glorious wine filled lunches or check out the nightlife the way I likely would have if I had not been. My husband and I still perused the streets and ooh’d and ahh’d over the cobblestones or being able to take in a museum at night for hours. The Eiffel scared me as wind whizzed past my ears while I took in the aerial view from the top. Then it winked at me while we enjoyed dinner with friend later that evening. Clearly Paris mesmerized me.

Since visiting Paris I’ve dreamed of being back every year, in every season, to experience what it looks like under the cloak of freshly fallen snow or draped in the warmth of the sun’s beaming rays.
I want to picnic in the Jardin des Tuileries with views of the Lourve as I eat my baguette and sip rose. Like it’s been said, there is never a bad time for Paris. In fact it has even made its onto my vision board to eventually own a home. So don’t be shocked friends when you see me on holiday, shopping in the Galeries Lafayette. It is coming.
Have you been to Paris? Or is there a place you dream of going back to? Let’s dream together!
