Red Hot Darling

If pink was the color for winter and spring then red is certainly making waves for the summer. Red screams power, it’s strong and feminine at the same time. I think a red lip is the perfect compliment to most outfits and when I saw this muscle tee on Miss Tara Belle (@misstarabelle) – I knew I had to have it. Pairing with these red cropped flares and silver boots had me feeling like an extra in a David Bowie music video. And I was right. Chanel had a faux space launch at their show in Paris during fashion week, Coach recently released a new capsule dedicated to the galaxy, and D&G got in on the action too. Seems like the moon is the new hot spot and we’re all dressed for a party that we can’t get to. Whether surrounded by stars or not I’m completely smitten with the galaxy inspiration.

How can you not feel light on your feet when you’ve got red hot flares billowing in the wind? This look has a lot of components but because I’ve kept it mostly monochrome it works well. Don’t be afraid to pile on the colors as long as they compliment on another. If you know anything about art you know that red and green are complimentary colors on the color wheel. With their powers combined, you are indeed captain stylish!
