Summer White Ruffles

Wearing white is not for the faint of heart. It’s for people who trust themselves and those who don’t keep a Tide stick on hand for emergencies. So basically probably not me but alas here I am. Fully clad in an all white, ruffled number that I can get enough of. I saw this on ASOS months ago and pondered over whether or not to pull the trigger for a while. Then I kept seeing it pop up and thought, “I can’t lose out on this.” Safe to say it was a smart shot. Summer and white ruffles make the perfect combo.Though this is advertised on ASOS as a shirt, you can see that it’s definitely long enough to rock as a dress. I love that it’s billowy and can be worn with sneakers for a look I like to call casual chic. My love of sneakers has overtaken my closet and I really may need to start balancing things out here. Honestly I’m not even sure I own a pair of heels or sandals that I want to wear with this dress. Ok, that’s a lie but I need to get some more heels soon.

As a kid I could never wear white, my mother barely wanted to buy me white t-shirts for fear that they would end up black by the time I was through with them. Luckily as time has gone on I’ve been able to get my wits about myself in order to handle the feat. Now I’m officially ready for my fifties as a middle aged Black woman who lives for an all white affair.

I’m still loving this Sam Edelman shoulder bag as you can see, you can catch it here as well. Also these Fendi shades which I will never tire of. A few weeks ago in Palm Springs I stopped by the Simon Outlets and picked up these Miu Miu slip-ons that I’ve been lusting after for years. If you do decide to splurge on some, be mindful they do run very small. Opt for a size up.

No summer is complete without a full white look, but I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t spice it up a bit. Don’t be surprised if you see me in this dress in three other colors – it’s just that good.
