Some outfits you nail once and they become a formula for looking good. That’s the case with this look; maxi skirt, simple tee, mules and repeat. It’s the ease of these pieces that bring me back to the outfit time and time again. Especially when I’m standing in the closet struggling with just want to put on. Definitely when there’s more on my mind than just style. Have you been there?Lately I’ve been getting tons of inspiration from fellow blogger, Aylin Koenig. Her luxurious understated street style has me longing for days spent in the South of France where my maxis can blow in the wind and sea salt air gets caught in my curls. I spotted this exact skirt on her and was super surprised to find that it came from H&M. The lace overlay and color make it seem much more high-end than it is, and I love it!
As I strolled down by the water in this I felt free. Currently with everything happening in the world it’s difficult to relish in that or even say it aloud. Hard to feel light on my feet like I typically do, because so much of the world’s strife is weighing on my heart. For those of you finding it difficult to ease through your daily routine without anger, sadness, or frustration please know you are not alone in those feelings. I am with you.

I am grateful for some of the freedoms of life I experience because of my country. However, what I truly want is for more to be done about the intrinsically engrained radical racism that lives here among us. If you’re in the LA area, and feel the same, I’ll be speaking on a panel this Saturday (August 26th) speaking about racism, inclusivity, and more in conjunction with Dude, Be Nice in Whittier. I’d love to chat with some of you and hear your thoughts.
