Subscription Boxes, Are They Worth Your Money?

They are everywhere, there is one for everything, and each person has a favorite. For years I managed to stay away from them but one finally got me to come around. By now you’re probably wondering, what and which one caught my attention. But the more important question is – are subscription boxes worth your money?

Enough with the elusiveness Leslie – okay, okay I’ll get to it. Subscription boxes seems to have replaced what magazines used to be. Now you can find a monthly box chock full of goodies geared toward any interest you may have. And while I think the business idea is genius, I also must say the market seems a bit saturated now. For natural hair girls you’ve got the industry go-to CurlBOX, you have Curl Kit, and I’m sure there’s another out there I’m not familiar with. You’ve got the beauty boxes – Glossybox and Birchbox, and there’s even Quarterly, a service that provides curated boxes every three months for the foodie, fitness guru, bookworm, or general curious cat you may know. I have never been super drawn to any of these services only because of the mystery surrounding them. You never know what you may get – you just hope it’s something you love. That’s a surprise and a gamble I can’t handle. I’m a control freak, what can I say?

But when Rocksbox reached out asking me to try their jewelry subscription service for three months, I was intrigued. For quite sometime I haven’t been fully satisfied with my jewelry selection and my current pieces aren’t cutting it anymore. I used to love scooping up items from fast fashion spots but lately I’ve been unimpressed. What made Rocksbox different for me was that I could make a wishlist of items based on my style preferences and each month I’ll receive items from that list. So while it is a surprise, it’s not quite the gamble of getting something I won’t like or wear. Here’s a peek at some of what I chose:

Rocksbox carries brands like gorjana, Kendra Scott, Jenny Bird, House of Harlow, and more. All lines you could find in higher end retail stores to try, wear, and return if you so choose. You have the option to purchase the items if you’d like, which is great because there will certainly be some pieces you won’t want to part with. Plus all your jewelry arrives in a beautifully wrapped box with a personalized note and an envelope to return everything for free. WINNING.

All in all I don’t know if all the hoards of subscriptions boxes out there are worth your time or your money – but I can say that Rocksbox has my vote of confidence. As a gift to you, my lovely readers, they’ve asked me to give you one month FREE to try out the service! Just use the code: HAUTEMOMMIEXOXO at checkout to get the offer.

Are there any subscription boxes you love that I should try? Let me know, I’m open now! Hahaha
