As trends come and and go the thing that will always be most important to me is maintaining a sense of chic, because it can so easily be lost when you’re trying to keep up. Lately fashion has embarked on a new frontier, all things Western and while I may not be donning a ten gallon hat or chaps, there are other elements a sister can get with. Keep reading to see what tickled my fancy.
When I was younger I associated all things Western with the South. I figured rodeos, cowboy hats, and jeans tucked into boots wasn’t really the look for a coastal girl like me. Turns out I was wrong because umm…I love a cowboy boot. I recall my aunt having a number of vintage boots on hand a few years ago that I so graciously accepted. Favorite among them was a pair of denim ones. I’m still sad years later about having to give them my sister because I outgrew them. But I had already caught the bug so when I started to see the trend rising again, I was excited.
To be honest there is little, more chic, than a great pair of jeans, a nicely fitting shirt, and a pair of boots.
No matter where you’re headed or what time of day, it’s an outfit that will carry you far. From day to night, date night to girl’s night out; it’s a look honey! These boots are another gorgeous pair from Jeffrey Campbell, a brand that makes some of my favorite boots to date. I love the cutout sides and the slight silver toe that gives them some character. It’s a good versatile pair that will make it easy to add that western touch to a lot of my wardrobe.

I would also like to address how well this chambray button down from Madewell fits. As a busty girl, wearing button down tops is not something I often do. The gaping, the pulling on the buttons, the constant puckering throughout the day leaves me annoyed and I end up wanting to change before I even leave the house. But I can say with confidence that this shirt wasn’t a total disaster. Hand clap for that.
Are you going for full Gone With The Wind western looks this fall or are you stopping with the boots? I’d love to see how other folks are going for it.
