I‘ve been told that promptness isn’t my strong point, and as much as I’d love to deny it – it’s true. No matter how early I wake up to get ready for an event I always seem to find myself being rushed out of the door by the Husband. He hates it. After many “tardy for the party” occasion, he’s kindly requested that I attempt to put my makeup on a little faster. “Beauty takes time, ” I holler but I know he’s right. Which is why I had to come up with a quick fix.
Enter my “10-minute face” routine.
With these steps I’ve been able to make myself people appropriate and still get to the function before last call. Take a look below to see how I get it all done.
Not counting my moisturizer and primer depending on the weather, I start by applying my Glossier perfecting tint in Deep. It gives a dewy finish and while I wouldn’t wear it alone, it serves as a perfect base for the 10 Minute face. Next, I must attack these under eyes because I can’t go anywhere looking half asleep, even if I may be. I usually opt for either NARS Concealer in Caramel or Biscuit or my Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum in Natural. Then onto my Becca powder in Tobacco which is so smooth, I’ve been thoroughly impressed by this powder because I haven’t found anything thus far that I’ve liked. For this quick job on my brows I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow wiz in Ebony to line and fill.
Normally I’d use the brow dip on a full face day. To highlight I go with my NAKED Illuminator, but I am on the hunt for something else as this doesn’t always brighten enough for my liking. For blush I switch this up depending on the day but usually something rosy or peachy is the look I aim for. On the eyes I add a quick winged Wet N’ Wild liner and swipe some mascara, lately it’s been Better Than Sex, to complete. Finally the finale – lips. We’ve noted my affinities before here, I have been reaching for mostly mattes lately though.
Usually I finish with my MAC Prep + Prime or Makeup Forever setting spray, this is a crucial step to not leaving your face on your clothes or someone else’s when it’s time for a hug.
