Perhaps it’s remnants left over from living in D.C. but cool breezes make me happy and chunky sweaters are the sign of good times ahead. I have a friend who laughs at me each year when Fall rolls around. He implores me to just finally move back to the East coast so I can stop talking about my longing for actual weather outside of 72 and sunny for most of the year. Truth is I would move back, in a heartbeat, but you know obligations, family, etc. So California it is and when the days finally get shorter, and the heat gives us a break – I’ll be ready to bust my sweaters out with joy.

Finding a good quality chunky sweater is a science. You want it to be equal parts oversized and still well fitting. Something that doesn’t make you look thirty two pounds heavier but keeps you cozy. Perhaps I’m giving this too much thought and a sweater is a sweater but I think not. Fabrics are also everything because nothing says, “bad sweater” like itchy arms, you can keep it Susan! Thankfully this Zara number checked all the boxes and made me a happy camper.

What says fall more than thick knits…

Nothing if you ask me. Some folks are more cashmere people, others prefer something thin and layer friendly. As for me and my closet, we adhere to the chunkier the better. In fact if it’s big and long so I can wear it like a dress? That’s even better. But enough of the sweater talk for a moment can we take a second to mourn the the soon to be loss of Henri Bendel?! Sigh…it pains me that they’ll be shuttering their doors come January 2019. In an effort not to be too sad I’m trying to snatch up all the bags and cute accessories I can before they are long gone. Hence the bag. Although I likely would have bought it even if they weren’t closing because is it like me to leave a sexy purse behind? No.

Sweater weather is perfect weather in my book. What’s your favorite Fall fashion piece; boots? Coats? Those are both a close second for me. Like I always say anyone can be cute in the summer – we’re all half naked.

But when it gets brisk outside, that’s when the real fashionistas come alive!

xx,
